Hi, I’m Sam Matla
I’ve written over 200 articles on music production concepts and techniques that have been read by hundreds of thousands of producers. I also interview successful artists.
Together, my team and I have…
HOW EDMPROD CAME TO BE
It was the first of June, 2013.
I opened my notebook and wrote down…
I’d been writing a blog about personal productivity. I didn’t hate it, but I certainly couldn’t see myself running it for the next 5 years let alone the next 6 months.
I loved music, I’d been making it for several years at this point, but for some reason I never considered combining my passion for music with teaching.
So, I decided I’d make music for most of the day, and write articles about it on the side. Maybe some people would get value out of them. Who knows.
An earlier version of EDMProd
Except that didn’t happen. Instead of making music for most of the day, I found myself writing articles and recording tutorials. Why? I have no idea.
For the past 3 years, that hasn’t changed. I’ve spent a lot of time producing and a lot of time on this website. Throughout my time running EDMProd, I’ve learned that a lot of producers:
- Struggle to finish tracks and don’t know how to overcome creative block.
- Can’t figure out how to get a clean and full sounding mix.
- Find it hard to write good music and arrange a complete track.
No one said these things are easy to fix. They aren’t. But I can help you overcome them if you’re willing to put in the work on your end.
How do I know that? Because I’ve had hundreds if not thousands of people tell me that my work has helped them. I don’t say this to brag. I say it because if you’re struggling with music production, or simply want to improve, then I want you to take my work seriously.
